What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus is a common auditory condition that affects millions of people worldwide

Tinnitus is often described as a ringing, buzzing, hissing, or humming sound in the ears. These sounds can be constant or intermittent and can vary in pitch from a low roar to a high squeal. Tinnitus is not a disease itself but a symptom of an underlying condition.

Tinnitus is characterized by the perception of noise or ringing in the ears when no external sound is present. Tinnitus can vary in severity and type, ranging from a minor nuisance to a debilitating condition that significantly impacts quality of life.

Subjective Tinnitus: This is the most common type, where only the affected person can hear the noise. It is usually linked to issues in the auditory pathways or brain.

Objective Tinnitus: This rare type can be heard by a healthcare provider during an examination. It is often caused by blood vessel problems, muscle contractions, or middle ear bone conditions.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I visited Hear Pure in Heswall and had a consultation regarding my tinnitus. HearPure is very knowledgeable and understands the huge effect longstanding tinnitus can have on an individual. After discussing options, they gave me a tinnitus masking aid to try and after performing some wizardry on the computer, it turned on and for the first time in 9 years I couldn't hear the tinnitus in my head. I highly recommend Hear Pure if you are looking for knowledgeable people and a company that is understanding and does their best to help you find a solution within your budget. I owe Hear Pure a huge debt of gratitude as they really have changed my life. Thank you!
