Ahead of Your First Appointment with Hear Pure
Getting ready for your first hearing test? With us there’s no need to feel anxious!
Your comfort is our priority, and you’re in expert hands from the moment you walk in. Here’s what you can expect on the day, step by step, plus answers to quick questions that might be on your mind.
Personal Consultation
Your appointment starts with a relaxed chat. You’ll talk with your audiologist about your medical history, hearing concerns, and day-to-day lifestyle. Feel free to bring notes or think ahead about which listening situations matter most to you: Maybe you want to hear better in meetings, at family dinners, or while watching TV.
It’s all about helping you hear your world the way you want to.
Ear Examination
Next, we’ll take a quick and gentle look inside your ears. Using a lighted instrument called an otoscope, your audiologist will check for anything that might affect your hearing, like wax buildup or signs of damage.
You can ask questions, and you’ll be told what’s happening every step of the way.
Sound Assessment
You’ll pop on some comfortable headphones and relax as you listen for a series of beeps and tones. Each time you hear a sound, just press a button or raise your hand. Simple!
This is called pure-tone audiometry and it helps plot your hearing range on a detailed audiogram, which shows exactly how your ears respond at different pitches.
Depending on what your hearing concerns are, there could be other assessments present to fully understand your current hearing health. Check out our dedicated Comprehensive Hearing Assessments page to find out more!
Same-Day Results
No waiting and wondering. As soon as your tests are done, you’ll sit down with your audiologist to review your results in plain language.
You can ask your audiologist about anything you don’t understand and, together, you’ll decide what next steps suit you best.

If hearing aids could make a difference for you, you’ll receive expert guidance on the latest technology: think invisible, rechargeable, and Bluetooth-enabled options.
